A child was injured Monday when a school bus carrying ten kids was involved in an accident yesterday afternoon.

Officials say the bus rear-ended another car in front of Wilkinson Elementary School on Wilkinson Road in Sarasota County.

One child was taken to an area hospital claiming the crash aggravated a previous knee injury. No other injuries were reported.

According to the FHP, both the car and bus were slowing for school traffic when the car in front jammed on its brakes.
