Good news for Sarasota county when it comes to home sales: October sales were up in Sarasota county more than anywhere else along Florida’s Gulf Coast. In their most recent survey, area Realtors say sales of existing single-family homes were up 20% over October 2010 in the Sarasota-Bradenton area. The median price for those sales did fall slightly, down 3% to just over $137-thousand. Sales elsewhere in southwest Florida ranged from up 15% in Tampa-St. Pete to down 6% in Fort Meyers.
