Sarasota County Sheriff’s deputies have busted a former member of the Englewood Masonic Lodge for allegedly stealing over $90,000 from the group’s scholarship fund. A sheriff’s spokesperson says the 59-year old Port Charlotte residents called them to report himself. An investigation confirmed that Cripps was the only one with access to the money and that he’s taken over $92,000 from the account without authorization. He surrendered this morning, is charged with felony scheme to defraud. He’s being held on $50,000 bond.
