The graduation rate in Charlotte County jumped by nearly 7 percent in the 2018-19 school year.

District officials said on Tuesday that the 900-plus students that will get their caps and gowns this week make up 87.6% of all eligible students, an increase from last year’s 81 percent graduation rate.

Charlotte County’s graduation rate still ranks 26th overall in the state. The state average is 86.1 percent.
