Charlotte County commissioners last week approved more than $600,000 worth of projects, including $200,000 for a beach renourishment project for Manasota Key.

The 8-year long project is expected to cost $37.5 million, of which the state will pay around 39 percent.

The Marine Advisory Committee rejected spending more than $40,000 for Englewood’s Waterfest as well as a half-million dollars for Punta Gorda’s Buckley Pass dredge.
