Six dozen animals were rescued from a Port Charlotte home last week.

Officials say 30 cats, ten pigs and piglets, plus reptiles, rats, hamsters and a dog were found living in a small home in deplorable conditions.

The homeowner, Elizabeth Smock, is likely to face animal cruelty charges this week.

Shelter officials say the good news is that none of the animals appeared to have any life-threatening health problems. The animals are expected to come up for adoption once Smock’s court case is over.
