FDOT’s traffic report has hit a snag. The department says a traffic study between Sarasota and Manatee County and the Barrier Islands cannot begin until next year. Transportation officials say they keep working on finding a consultant for the study, but they cannot find one in time for this season.

A Bradenton man continues recovering from a gunshot wound. The Brandenton Herald reports someone shot this 45-year-old man last night at 26th Avenue West and Fifth Street. Authorities expect him to make a full recovery. No one reports any arrests.
