A 78-year-old Port Charlotte woman recovering today after being run down while trying to cross a street — with her walker. The Highway Patrol says Mary Lou Davis was trying to cross the street at the intersection of Olean and Harbor Boulevards when she was struck by a van driven by 41-year-old Randy Day of North Port. Troopers say Davis was not in a marked crosswalk at the time. She was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries. Day reportedly not injured.
