Five years ago, the school district cut physical education and media classes to once every two weeks. Well, hanks to $550,000 in left over Hurricane Charley relief money, the district’s hired 10-teaching jobs at each of its 10-elementary schools to get kids back in the gym and media center on a weekly basis. A school district sokesperson tells NBC2 that it’s not a one time thing, and the new jobs will stay in future budget years.
