We’ve been following the efforts of Sarasota high wire artist Nick Wallenda’s efforts to get permission to wire-walk across Niagara Falls. Now, he has it. After repeated denials of permission, the Niagara Parks Commission in Canada has reversed itself and unanimously approved Wallenda’s application. Wallenda will thus become the first person to walk Niagara Falls on a high wire since 1911. In his application he cited a study that said his effort would bring an extra 120-thousand visitors and as much as ten million new dollars to the local economy. He now has 45 days to make it happen.
