A group wants to save the Venice Library.

It has asked the county not to “remove one book” until all efforts to make the current building usable again have failed.

The Herald-Tribune reports Janine Joyner wants to organize a volunteer effort to perform much of the work.

Jack Sullivan in February made a pledge of $100,000 to help pay for repairs.

Joyner says she hopes Sullivan’s money can lead to removing mold and fixing the drainage issues that the county cited as reasons for closing the library in January.
