A Venice woman died early this morning after a vehicle wreck on East Venice Avenue. Florida Highway Patrol says that 24-year-old Riley Nicole Manyak was traveling east just past Auburn Road around 2am when she failed to stop for a bucket truck stopped partially in a lane of travel. The police report says that Manyak disregarded a construction worker holding a “stop” sign. Her vehicle bounced off the truck, then slid into another construction truck parked nearby. The driver of the bucket truck was uninjured; the second truck was unoccupied. Manyak was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene of her injuries. An investigation is ongoing.
