Venice Police arrested 39-year old John Chase and 25-year old Ashley Anderson early this morning, on charges of trafficking a controlled substance (oxycodone), possession of methamphetamine, possession of Xanax, and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were arrested in the 1200 block of U.S. 41 Bypass after officers observed a silver Grand Marquis fail to stop at Hauser Lane before turning south onto the bypass. When the officer asked Chase, the driver, to step out of the vehicle, a glass pipe fell to the ground. A search revealed methamphetamine on Chase. Anderson, the passenger, had methamphetamine, oxycodone, and Xanax in her possession. Police seized 4.57 grams of oxycodone and 6 grams of methamphetamine.
