How does pollution-free public transportation sound to you? How does FREE sound? That’s the concept that’s being pushed in Venice as the company that operates the Green Trolley hopes to provide the service in downtown Venice with battery-operated vehicles. The plan is being put forward to the Venice City Council and one of its selling points is that no taxpayer money would be involved, even for charging stations. The company says its revenue comes entirely from advertising on the trolleys.
