The Venice Police Department is in the final stages of earning its accreditation from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement. There are 260 standards with which the department must comply in order to receive accreditation. Earlier last week, law enforcement professionals came to Venice to run a drill for the real assessment process coming up in August.
