Venice Police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that hit a woman who just celebrated her 85th birthday.
Police said Marjory Girard was crossing Albee Farm Road toward Johnson Lane when a white Ford F350 pick-up truck towing a gray trailer pulled out of Johnson Lane onto Albee Farm road, hitting Girard and throwing her at least 12 feet backward, then running over her. Girard was taken by helicopter to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. But police said the truck fled the scene on Lucaya Avenue. Sarasota County deputies found the truck in the 1400 block of Pine Street, but said the owner denied being in the area of the accident. If you know anything, call Venice Police.
