Venice firefighters found A-Star Auto and Truck Sales fully engulfed in flames when they arrived at the scene of a fire around 309 S. Warfield Ave. at 12:40 a.m. Sept. 30.
The fire, which was coming through the roof, was threatening the adjacent business. Firefighters succeeded in keeping the fire from spreading. It took nearly 30 minutes to put the fire. Five units from Venice Fire Department and four units from Sarasota County Fire Department responded to the call. Venice crews were on the scene for more than three hours. The state fire marshal is investigating the fire. The fire caused extensive damage to the property.
