Venice police have arrested a couple on felony child neglect charges after finding found five children under their care living in filth and without supervision except by a 10-year-old girl who was watching over four children, including two ill premature infants hooked to heart monitors. Officers also found open containers of alcohol and two used hypodermic needles within reach of all the children. The arrest report identifies the couple as 31-year old Joseph Castaneda and his wife, 19-year old Vanessa Geraty.
