A vehicle hit a bicyclist in Port Charlotte this morning.
The highway patrol says it happened on Route 41.
It has identified the man on the bike as 25-year-old Andrew Toner.
The troopers say he drove a motorized bicycle as he traveled into the path of a pickup truck.
The driver tried stopping, but he could not.
Toner remains in critical condition at Lee Memorial.
The crash shut down 41’s southbound lanes from Elkcam Boulevard to Olean Boulevard.
