Eight local convenience store clerks were cited Monday for underage alcohol sales. A sting by the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Juvenile Alcohol Task Force resulted in seven clerks being given a misdemeanor notice to appear, while 34-year old Rathod Hemrajsinh was arrested on charges of selling alcohol to a minor because he did not meet notice to appear stipulations. Ten other businesses were found to be in compliance. This is the third such sting conducted in Sarasota County in 2013, resulting in a combined 29 citations for selling alcohol to minors.
