The University of Florida’s extension campus is officially open in Sarasota.

It’s at CityLab Sarasota, and seven students working on their masters degrees in architecture started classes there Monday. According to the Herald-Tribune the work those students do could come to life in Sarasota. Other UF students are putting the final touches on a master plan for Longboat Key. The CityLab students could wind up submitting proposals for other local projects including the Sarasota Community Center as well as the Sarasota 20/20 Bayfront plan. They’re starting small though, with plans for an extension of the building.
