Landscaping equipment stolen from Sarasota County Technical Institute was recovered today after a chase that headed onto I-75 around 3 this morning. When it was over, Sarasota County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 47-year old Sammy Balsinger and 42-year olod Travor Henson. Balsinger was charged with grand theft, aggravated fleeing to elude, driving with a suspended license and aggravated battery on an officer. Henson’s was charged with grand theft. The Herald-Tribune reports the men told deputies they stole two trailers and four commercial grade lawn mowers — valued at $45,000 , A warrant has been issued for a third suspect.
