They were already investigating one shooting when Sarasota Police were called to another.
Police said they were investigating a shooting, but didn’t find anybody in the 19 hundred block of Luther King Jr. Avenue around 1 a.m. Saturday. They then learned that 20 year old Hakeem Murray was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound, and later died. Police said he lived in the 3200 block of Newtown Boulevard, where police found no suspects. Then around 5 a.m., and a couple of miles away, Police found 34 year old Reynard Jackson dead at a house in the 12 hundred block of 32nd Street. Police say they believe the shootings are linked.
