Tropical Storm Erika continues grinding ever so slowly toward the west, with the center of the storm having passed by the Leeward Islands earlier today. Erika still has maximum sustained winds of about 45 miles-per-hour. The storm is projected to start turning slightly northward and pass directly over Puerto Rico overnight, then work it way along the northern coast of the Dominican Republic tomorrow. No strengthening is expected over the next two days, but forecasters say hurricane-force winds could develop by Monday as the storm moves northwest.
