The season’s third tropical storm has developed in the central Atlantic ocean.

Tropical Storm Chantal (Shawn-TALL) was named late Sunday night. Chantal was located more than 650 miles east of the island of Barbados and had maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour. Tropical storm warnings are up for the islands of Barbados, Dominica and Saint Lucia; with a tropical storm watch for the island of Saint Vincent. Chantal is moving rapidly west and could forecasters with the National Hurricane Center say the storm could be a threat to Florida by the end of the week.
