A Punta Gorda man decided he wasn’t going to stand by and watch someone drive away with his work trailer.

The victim told CCSO deputies he was getting ready for work around 3:15 a.m. yesterday, when he saw his trailer being driven away from his Cleveland area home without him. He got into his vehicle and gave chase, following until it turned onto Argo Road. He knew something the suspect didn’t. Argo’s a dead end street. He watched the man get out, unhitch the trailer, then try to drive away, only to reach the dead end and have to turn around. The suspect, identified as 24-year old Ismael Torres of North Port stopped when the victim confronted him. Deputies took him into custody and he’s being held in the Charlotte County Jail on $2500 bond charged with grand theft.
