Charlotte County Sheriff’s deputies will be busy this week with increased traffic enforcement on roads in Port Charlotte and Englewood.

Deputies will after speeders the entire length of Rampart Boulevard in Port Charlotte and the entire length of Boundary Road in Englewood. Deputies will be doing traffic light enforcement at the intersections of McCall Road and Gillott Boulevard in Englewood, and at US 41 and Toledo Blade Boulevard in Port Charlotte. The State Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles reports Charlotte County’s had 18 vehicle deaths so far this year; at this time last year there’d only been 11.
