Deputies will be looking for those who ignore the posted speed limits in Port Charlotte, on Peachland Boulevard between Cochran and Harbor Boulevard’s; and on U.S. 41 between Melbourne Street and Harbor Boulevard. They’ll be doing traffic light enforcement at the intersections of U.S. 41 and Veterans Boulevard in Port Charlotte and SR 776, McCall Road, and Spinnaker Boulevard in Englewood.
By the way, State Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles data shows there have been 16-fatalities on the roads in Charlotte County so far this year. At this time last year, the number was 10.
