Yesterday, we told you how officers went to the home of a man suspected of robbing a Wells Fargo branch on Tamiami Trail, surrounded it, evacuated the neighborhood, got a warrant and charged in — only to find the suspect wasn’t home. Undeterred, Sarasota police tried again yesterday — and got their man. 52-year-old James Holderman was home this time and he’s now been arrested in the robbery. Holderman, who previously served time for armed robbery in Washington state, was identified from surveillance video and, detectives say, later confessed to the holdup.
