A standoff between a heavily-armed fugitive and a Sun Coast SWAT team has ended peacefully. Sarasota police say it began when they located an address for 29-year-old Tauvolus Smith, who was wanted for domestic battery in Sarasota County and evidence tampering Manatee County. When officers surrounded the house, they determined that Smith was armed with a military-style rifle and a handgun. They also say he refused to come out. At that point, a Manatee County SWAT team was called in. After several hours, Smith walked out peacefully and was arrested.
