The southwest Florida real estate market continues to heat up. Home prices in the Sarasota-Manatee area jumped 12.1 percent compared to the same time last year, according to data provider CoreLogic. That rate far outpaced Florida’s overall increase during that span of 7.8 percent, which itself beat out the national rise of 6.4 percent. Home prices were up 0.7 percent in the North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton market compared to August, one point higher than the national average during that period.
