(ENGLEWOOD) Detectives following up on leads in the Monday morning burglary of Ricaltini’s Bar and Grille in Englewood have identified the suspect and arrested two people early Tuesday morning. Arrested were Kevin John Mathews, 26, of 2950 Bourbon St. in Englewood, and Danielle Renee Munson, 28, also of 2950 Bourdon St. in Englewood.

Mathews’ name came up as a former employee of Ricaltini’s, who had quit within the past few months and who lived only a short distance from the business. Detectives noticed that Mathews’ physical description was similar to that of the suspect seen in the surveillance video. Detectives went to Mathews’ residence to speak with him and ultimately met with both Mathews and Munson, his girlfriend. Mathews and Munson agreed to follow them back to the District 1 Englewood office.

After Mathews and Munson left the residence, another roommate allowed detectives access to common areas of the residence, where they located bottles of Crown Royal liquor consistent with the liquor taken from Ricaltini’s. They also saw clothing that was similar to what was worn by the suspect in the video.

After obtaining a search warrant for the residence and for Munson’s vehicle, detectives recovered clothing, a large amount of coins, several money envelopes with Ricaltini’s address imprinted on them and a crushed Crown Royal Black box.

Based upon the evidence recovered and statements received in the case, detectives arrested Kevin Mathews on charges of Burglary, Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Burglary Tools, Grand Theft, Wearing a Mask or Hood and Violation of Probation. He was being held at the Charlotte County Jail without bond.

Danielle Munson was arrested on charges of Burglary and Grand Theft. She was being held on $5,000 bond.
