This years’ Suncoast Super Boat Grand Prix Festival had a bigger economic impact than last years. YourObserver.com reports the event had an overall $17-million impact and generated close to 16,000 room nights in local hotels, up substantially from 2013.. Research Data Services, Inc. says the number of visitors who came to Sarasota County this year spent over $9.5-million, up over 8.5% from 2013’s event. About 80% of the out of county visitors in 2014 say they’ll be back next year.
