Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is probing a fatal shooting that took place at Bell Plaza, in Port Charlotte.
The incident unfolded near Uppercutz Barbershop on Tamiami Trail Tuesday afternoon.
Chris Hall, Public Information Officer for CCSO, confirmed the death of one individual due to the shooting. The alleged gunman was apprehended by deputies and is reportedly cooperating with the investigation.
Identity details of both the shooter and the victim remain undisclosed.
Hall assured the community of their safety, stating that all involved parties are accounted for and there’s no imminent threat.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear as investigations continue.
“We’re actively working to uncover the circumstances leading to this incident,” stated Hall, emphasizing the ongoing investigation.”
