Punta Gorda PD say they stopped a car on Tamiami Trail because the passenger wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. That’s not where things ended. The Herald-Tribune reports a canine unit showed up during the stop and alterted officers to the presence of drugs. Officers say Douglas Quick, had a black bag with him. Inside it they found about 20 grams of meth, meth filled syringes, hydromorphone pills, and $400 in cash. Police say they found meth and drug gear with Robert Andrew Nichols. Both men face drug charges, and had their dope and cash seized by police.
