(Port Charlotte) Two Port Charlotte men were arrested early yesterday morning on multiple drug charges as the result of a search warrant executed by the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit.

At about 6:30 yesterday morning, the Narcotics Unit with the assistance of the Street Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at 457 Cypress Avenue in Port Charlotte. When they arrived, they found Henry L. Thomas, 63, and Jerry Thomas, 55, at the residence. Henry Thomas was initially outside in the driveway with a pit bull, while Jerry Thomas was located inside the house.

After Henry Thomas complied with detectives’ request to secure the dog in the back of the house, they located a baggie of suspected cannabis where Henry Thomas had been standing.

During the search, detectives located currency in Jerry Thomas’ bedroom that included a $10 bill that matched pre-recorded money that had previously been used for an undercover narcotics purchase. They located pills in the living room area that were marked as being morphine. In the kitchen they located two plastic baggies containing suspected cannabis. They also located residue of what appeared to be cocaine. The contents of the baggies tested positive for cannabis and the residue tested positive for cocaine.

As a result, both Henry Thomas and Jerry Thomas were arrested on charges of Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Morphine, Possession of Marijuana less than 20 grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Jerry Thomas was also charged with three counts of Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Sell and three counts of Possession of Cocaine plus another charge of Possession of Paraphernalia as the result of previous undercover drug transactions.

Jerry Thomas was being held at the Charlotte County Jail on a total of $30,500 bond. Henry Thomas was being held on $7,000 bond.
