The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office continues investigating a retail theft.
It says it happened last Friday at Walmart in Port Charlotte.
The sheriff’s office claims the suspect ran from the store after taking over 300 dollars in merchandise. However, the store recovered all of it quickly.
The office says the suspect ran along the waterway at Frizzell Street and Hillcrest Drive.
It believes this man jumped into the water behind the county administration building.
Someone last saw him leaving the water at Frizzell. A witness claimed a white Isuzu picked him up in that area and drove out of sight.
