Gov. Scott says he’ll veto legislation raising the speed limit on Florida highways from 70 to 75 mph. Scott says he’ll stick with the advice of law enforcement agencies that have asked him to turn the proposal down. The bill wouldn’t automatically hike speed limits, but lets Florida DOT raise them when it saw fit. The department could also raise the speed limit from 65 to 70 mph on rural, four-lane divided highways and up to 65 on other roads.
