What was supposed to be a one-hour campaign stop for Gov. Rick Scott turned into just 10 minutes at a Venice restaurant yesterday afternoon.
Dozens of protesters turned up, upset with the governor’s response to the ongoing red tide outbreak.
The protestors jammed the sidewalk, forcing Scott to use the back door. The governor left after just 10 minutes at the restaurant, leaving the crowd to yell “coward” as he left in a hurry.
It’s the second time Scott has ducked protestors at a campaign event in a a week after failing to show up at a northwest Florida donut shop amid protests outside.
