A school bus driver from Fort Myers dropped a kindergartner off at a Waffle House instead of daycare.
The district says it has fired that driver.
In a Facebook post, Lela Federick says her five-year-old son boarded the bus for daycare, but had to walk to it from the Waffle House.
She claims he walked several blocks along Route 41 to a gas station.
WBBH-TV reports a woman at the station found the boy sweating and begging for a drink.
She stayed with him until the daycare owner came to get him.
