Leaders in Sarasota have decided that after a week of violence nationwide, the time has come for what they call “a frank discussion.”
The county’s NAACP branch and the police department intend to meet with other groups on Wednesday evening.
This open discussion begins at 6:30 at Bethel CME Church.
A police department spokeswoman says the chief and members of the command staff plan to attend.
