A Sarasota county deputy has been suspended for allegedly having a sexual affair with a woman who was being investigated for drug and child abuse. SHeriff Tom Knight says the sergeant was suspended for conduct unbecoming an officer after an Internal Affairs investigation. The woman in question had been charged with pouring bleach on a child while under the influence of drugs. The woman had reportedly poured bleach, chlorine and pool shock on her then-eighteen-month-old son and an older child because, while under the influence, she believed they were covered with bugs.
