Sarasota County’s suing Sanborn Studios, claiming the company owes them $2,992 for every job it failed to create as promised. The Herald-Tribune reports the county gave the production company $650,000 in grants in 2010, as a way to create jobs and attract the film industry. Sanborn said then it would create 117 jobs with an average salary of just over $72-grand/year by 2013. The deal required Sanborn to repay the county the $2990 for every job not created. The company claims it’s created 200 full time jobs directly and hundreds more indirectly.
