Sarasota County Sheriff Tom Knight likes his job and wants to keep it. Re-Election.mp3

Knight’s filed the paperwork to seek a third four year term as sheriff. Knight ran and won his first time out in 2008 after spending 20-years with the Florida Highway Patrol. Knight tells the Herald-Tribune he’s a “life long cop,” and enjoys going to work every day. The Sheriff says the department’s been doing well under his leadership, and he says the county’s falling crime rate’s proof. He ran unopposed in 2012, and so far, no one’s filed to challenge him.
