Stormy weather that’s headed our way today has already caused some cancellations with Sarasota County Schools.
All after-school and extra-curricular activities and field trips planned for Thursday have been canceled.
Starting late this morning, a strong squall line of storms is expected to move in from the Gulf and bring strong winds and as much as 3-5 inches of rain.
Officials in both Sarasota and Charlotte Counties are telling residents to prepare for potential power outages as well as localized street flooding.
