The Sarasota County Commission has sided with residents looking to stave off at least some of the development coming to the Fruitville Park of Commerce.
This allows the government to keep its limits on what can pop up at the park just east of I-75.
Commissioners have denied a request to lift restrictions on the 35-acre site at Fruitville and East roads that limit certain commercial uses.
The Herald-Tribune reports these include restaurants, bars, service stations, and truck stops.
