The state health department has announced 10 new travel-related cases.
This adds Sarasota County to the declaration of public health emergency.
Two travel-related Zika cases have already popped up in Manatee County. Charlotte County also has one.
The virus spreads mainly through bites from tropical mosquitoes. It only causes mild illness for the most part, but infection during pregnancy can cause birth defects.
