Sarasota-based assistant state’s attorney Joshua Schueneman has been fired because of a racist social media post.
Officials say in March, a comment against Hispanic people was made on the “Joshua Schueneman for DeSoto County Judge” Facebook page. The comment was then ‘liked’ by Schueneman himself.
The comment came five months before he ran for DeSoto County Judge in August, an election in which he lost.
State Attorney Ed Brodsky said the ‘like’ called into question his impartiality on the bench.
