The old Remerton Mill in Lowndes County is no more. The last textile mill in South Georgia’s being torn down. Officials say the only thing that will remain is the smoke stack. The mill has been closed for almost a decade. There was a drive started to try to save the building as an historic site, but they couldn’t come up with the funds to buy it.
