The latest red tide report from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission showed that red tide concentrations are still high up and down the Suncoast.
Officials had hoped that Hurricane Michael had washed away the toxic algae blooms, but in the past two weeks, high concentrations have moved back into Sarasota and Charlotte Counties.
The FWC report on Wednesday showed high and medium concentrations in both counties, where fish kills and respiratory irritation were also reported.
